Hello ladies & gentlemen,
please help me with this problem.
I moved to UK from ITA last year (March 2012), in August I bought a little funny Punto 1.2 convertible (produced in 1998).
Firstly, Tesco sent me a quote of 660 £ according to my 10-years old NCB I had sent from Italy, then they refused it because it was not translated.
I refused the NCB and the price exploded to 1066 GBP, that is quite a lot of money.
After ONE YEAR, instead of dropping the price, I received their renewal proposal. Literally, they are kidding. £ 1359, with ONE YEAR of NCB.
I decided to dump them, from sites like comparethemarket, confused and moneysupermarket I found some insurers that can have it done for £ 800 more or less.
My questions:
- I see around a lot of youngster with cars such as Honda Civic type-R, Golf GTI, heavily modified ST 150 fiestas and Sport-RS200 Clios, and I BET their insurances are CHEAPER than mine.
What I have to do to tell Tesco "get the **** off of me, and **** yourself with a finger in your ****!!!", as soon as my policy expires, 30th August 2013?
They are such UNFAIR that putting in their site the same identical information they already have, the quote is £ 1024. They sent me a renewal proposal of 1359, and after a 40 minutes phone call with customer service, they proposed me a "very fair and cheap" £ 1270.
I am DONE with those extortionists. Admiral can do the same for £ 400 less, and I BET that if I try a new quote in 10 days, the price is to drop again.
I paid the car £ 750, it worths £ 400, with a 1.0 Corsa or a Smart I will be probably saving lots of money, but the last thing I wanted to think after 34 years on this planet, 16 of them with CLEAN driving licence, is to pay £ 1300 to insure a 1.2 car.
