Styling Leather dash panel mod

I found this "recycled leather" on eBay for £15 for 1m x 1.5m and thought I would have a go at leatherising a spare dash panel

The panel arrived today and I had to quickly try this in my lunch break, not too bad for a first attempt, the leather is quite thin and stretchy so it goes into all the dips quite easily..... And is a great colour match for my seats, shame it has a different grain pattern, but as it is not right next to the seats I don't think it will notice..

Someone else on here did one and I believe opinion was that it's a 'Marmite' mod..........

It looks good from what I can see - I'd loke to see pics of it all done and in place though

It's your Fiat 500 seagull.. You can do what you want. I think it would look pretty cool to match the interior.
That's the great thing about the 500 - customizable, you can make it your own.

Tell that to Fiat. ..... not all factory versions have matching dash and exterior colours. ..........

Both of my 500's have had different colours dashes as the cars body.

I've always been of the opinion that cars should have paint on the outside and soft stuff inside

Marked up...



Cut out and sprayed with glue..



Surprisingly stretchy this stuff, it gets in all the little nooks and crannies..







Then back with all the shiny bits







Tada...

Agreed - looks really good. Better than the original panel.

If I could find the same leather as used on the TA+ and get a dash set off a scrapper I'd do it

You just pull on lower right hand side of panel and then gently leaver rest of panel. You can use fingers, or trim tool for initial pull.
