Technical leaks again

I have tried to adjust my side glass to get a better seal from the rain, but on heavy downpours my B still leaks,:bang: my question is would a new hood help to stop these leaks?

Nope. I had a new hood put on last summer and it will not fix the problem you are having. The new hood is like the one you have on now. It does not come down over the rubbers as you might expect. Its all down to how you line up the glass, and how good your rubbers are.

Thanks for that Doc, The hood that's on the car now is the original and this doesn't hang over the door seals at all. I was hoping the new one would, if the hood had a little more overhang I'm sure it would help sort this problem.

Nope the new ones are the same. Post a close up pic of the window up so I can see what the gap is like. What are your window rubbers like ? what kind of condition are they in ?

I would love to get my hands on the four rubber hood seals but they are so blinkin expensive!! Unless anybody knows where to get them from cheaper??

I got two from Fiat at full price and four from Germany second hand but mint. Still cost me £120 for four !! I still have one more that needs replacing and I get the feeling its going to be another Fiat buy

I just sold the two I did not need.

The two I sold went for drivers side £45 and passenger went for £30.

The rubbers are just hens teeth !! rubber hens teeth that is heheheh

What I really REALLY want is the hood cover rubber, I've tried to fix it but it didnt work Bet they are expensive

Hood cover rubber ? You mean the one that runs all the way round the hood bay ? Thats £100 from FIat. I replaced mine last year.
