I got in my Panda this morning and I noticed that the door card on the drivers side was wet and had some mould growing on it:yuck: I'm pretty sure its the window seal that is the problem. Strange how I havent noticed it before, although we did have some pretty heavy rain last night.

Anyone else had this problem? Seems abit strange that the door card would get wet though, I would have thought it would just run down into the bottom of the door and make it rust:rolleyes:

Classic Panda prob........Lower rubber seal onto driver and co-driver window getting shorter and shorter over time, due to global-climate changes. After few years lower-rubber seal become 1-1.5 cm shorter then original......(check visually - lower rubber window seal at both sides, and will see the ammount of this time-related-shortage).
That is way for water attack to bottom of the door.

Before park your Panda (during or before-rain)- first have to check possible-angle of rainfall. Turn the panda that way to avoid side windows to be exposed to the actual angle of rainfall. This will be useful to reduce water intrusion under shortened seals-into doors.:slayer:

Why didn't Fiat just pot that information in the handbook? :D

Hi mate
The other thing to check and replace is the plastic sheeting taped to the bottom edge of the window inside the door.
I've increased the width of mine by about 2 inches on each side and I've started the plastic a good inch further up the glass.
This should stop any water getting near the door card and it'll just dribble down to the drain holes.

I've just been out and had a look, and I think I've found my problem. The plastic sheeting that is meant to be taped to the window is actually sitting in the bottom of the door.

Both the seals have shrunk aswell so that wont be helping, I was thinking I could just swap the seals round or take the ones of my 750 and use them?

Thanks for you replies everyone(y), hopefully I should be able to solve this easily, I dont want my drivers door suffering the same fate as the passenger side:rolleyes:

Dynno:confused::confused::confused: They have to, and they have to cut 1.5 cm extra long side window lower seals, counting on global heating effect:devil::devil::devil:

By the shrinking size of bottom window seals you can estimate Panda age. It shrinks 0,65 mm per year southern of Torino, and aprox 0,4 mm per year- northern of Torino (place of birth):devil::devil:
After shrinking reach 1.5 cm - till the Panda become adult (18 years or older) shrinking continue at the rate of 1.0 mm/year. Finally at the time of retirement, lower window seals fully dissapears.......(Fiat counts that global warming process will fully stops the rains - so there will be no need for seals in future)...............:devil::devil:

That must be some strong stuff you drink in Belgrade! ;)

Today I got round to taking the door card off, as suspected the plastic sheeting had come off and was loose inside the door, it was ripped so must have got caught when the window was wound down at some point.

I just need a new piece of sheeting and it will be sorted(y) The only problem is that the door card is warped from being wet, but oh well.

Try this way: Took off- door card and get some wet sponge on the back side till the back become really-really wet (few hours or more). Then press the door card between two flat surfaces - with some really heavy stuff covering - full dor-card lenth. Leave all this ``sandwich``to dry fully. You can use two flat -wood panels and place the wet door-card in between till become fully dry. Dry it on room temperature and secure very hevy preassure on both sides during drying process. (At least park your Panda onto ``sandwich``. Then door-card will become flat again.:D:D:D.

If that does not help - glue some aluminum bar on the back of door card to keep it strait:devil:
