Hey for those of you with red cinqs, or red fiats in general, does you car tend to look different kinds of red on different days??
This morning mine looked pink, and this avo it looks as bright red as my dads new audi.
i don't understand!!!

Also on the cinq does anyone have problems with the paint coming off the front bumper in the areas which aren't cut out??

(twincamms this is not a deliberate attempt to up my post count........but it helps:D)

GoGoCinquecento, your burning up the quater mile!!

Ive seen that paint chipping happening really badly on a few red Cinqs

I find the twice weekly rain we get is plenty for my Uno and lazy-towards cleaning car too often attitude ;)

my yellow cinq looks nasty faded in sunlight, but shes nice and shiny and fine under artifical light

it seems most panels have faded differently and the bumpers are awful :(

Cinq Sporting - and yes, its broom yellow!

My mom has a red car (not a fiat but hey this is the non-fiat discussion bitty :D) and has lots of problems with fading/ pinky paintwork. She has it t-cut every year or so, it's a wonder there's any paint left on it! I agree it looks better in some lights - I guess it's when the light shines on the pinky residue it looks worst.

Being silver, mine has no such problem and is allowed to go without washes for weeks at a time.

Yeah, in all seriousness, if I don't wash my red car often and polish it every so often it goes that horrid faded colour like pink. I found a polish with a urethylne (spelling and word might be wrong!) layer which added to it after you T-cut it. Makes you look like a nice fire engine (anyone get the pun with my 999cc fiat fire engine?).

Wish I had a silver car..!

My black car sometimes looks grey...think I need to wash it more. I know what u mean though. Red is a weird colour

anyone who saw my car at the weekend will know never to buy a black car ;)

but my sei was red, and never really had such issues, it was newer, but even when really dirty, allways looked red!

Oh and I forgot, I expect everyone has salt covered cars at the moment. Bloody salt, they put it on the road to save lives, all it does it assist in rusting and make your car look awful!

I read in New Scientist that they are looking to use a new salt/glycol mix (I think glycol is what they use to de-ice planes but it is bad for the environment). The mix apparently can be safe and much better for the job.
