laptop wireless adaptor card

hey all :wave: was after a bit of help on choosing a wireless card thing to slot into my laptop, been using a usb adaptor but its a bit annoying and slow, how do i know which ones will fit? just after a cheap one but have no idea what they go for, the laptop is a compaq presario 2100 with a slot in the left hand side if that helps, thanks a lot!

what model of wireless router or access point have you got? what I'm getting at is you just need to make sure that the card you buy supports the wireless bands that your router does.

It supports b and g by the sounds of it. so if i were you id look for a card that supports 802.11g you can pretty much get any brand that supports that standard and it will work, however i would stay away from any cheapo ones! stick to dlink if its not that much more than a budget one

You have 2 real options.. A PC card which goes in your slot - will stick out the side upto an inch.

or a USB adapter. Means you lose a USB port but you can swap it between any pc with a USB port.
