Technical Knocking noise when I go over bumps

Hi chaps

In need of a little help. I get a knock from the left hand side when the wheels go over a sharp bump in the road i.e. manhole over. Subframe bushes maybe?

Could be an engine mount

front or back of car ?

if its a back then most common on mk1 puntos is the suspension arms i thinkthey called. maybe radial arms ??? well anyways teh large metal armsthat hold the wheels on lol. they crack and you get a knock noise when going over bumps.

first could be hand brake cable knockin on bottom of fuel tank, second what fish dude said, third subframe mount bushes,(they easy)

i am just asuming its the back

Tis the back indeed...I had to have some bushes replace on the drvers rear about 3 months ago....I think you all may be right

I lie....it is actually the front nearside wheel that is knocking. Any ideas?

ball joint, loose wheel nuts, hub bearing, battery not bolted down
