General Keys not working

The locking and unlocking of my car has been a bit dodgy recently, not always working when I pressed the buttons on the fob and just recently not recognising the key being in the car when I press to start engine.
I've changed the battery today but nothing is happening still. Am I missing something or is there likely to be an issue with the car? Thanks in advance

Mine sometimes does this if the key is in my pocket with my mobile.
There is a paragraph in the handbook for my wife’s fiesta which also has keyless entry saying this could affect it.

Yes they are a bit hit'n'miss. I sometimes find I have to be sure the pocket with my key in is not too far from the door for it to open. Also on occasion the boot will not lock on closing so I have to lock / reopen with the key then lock again. TBH I'm not really a fan of the keyless system.

Definitely keep them away from your mobile

I would change the battery in the remote before it goes completely.

Have you tried the other key to see if that's any different? Mine works very reliably.

The more I think about this the more I realise the key usually in my coat pocket that my phone is normally in. Good tip.
