:confused:Two Days ago I came home from work and it was persisting it down. I looked over to check on my shinny baby and was horified to see that the drivers door was wide open and drenched with water . I went in my house and found my wife and little girl asleep in bed. I woke her and continuted with a good old telling off :nono:. I seems the door was wide open for a couple of hours :bang:. I eventualy let it go and she apologised.

This morning she rang me at work asking where I had put the keys. So I said all the usual places, on the fire place, on the sofa ect, but still know sign . She rang me 10 minutes later.
I'd only gone and left the keys on the back seat of the car, with the doors unlocked all night.

Seems I owe her an apology.

Any one else made any embarassing mistakes with their keys?

Stephen..

blimey, are the seats ok now or are they stained?

It was after my last pass plus lesson, after I dropped my instructor off I was due to help out with bag packing for cadets (to raise some money). My mum was already there helping out and phoned me during my lesson. So I got out of my car and locked it, so as I could stretch my legs and ring her. She wanted to know weather I had enough money for the car park there, I went around to the boot to check, pressed the blipper on the keys and opened the boot to have a look. Since I had my phone in one hand I put my keys down in the boot to look for my wallet. Having found it I shut the boot.... :bang:

I now had a locked car, in the middle of no where. Luckily my dad was on his way home, gave me a lift to the bag pack about 35 mins away. Then we had to drive back later the next day with the spare key!

Yes two days ago. I was at work, went out to one of the garages, put my car keys on one of the work cars. It wasnt till i was due to go home I could not find them anywhere at all. I phoned a colegue up, who noticed them after they had been out to a job and come back then noticed them! I left them down in the gutter bit by the windscreen wiper damn it. Lucky they stayed!

my old car, toyota corolla, would only lock from the inside central locking botton and i got in such a habbit of locking it that way, as i was getting out i locked it while i was talking to a mate at college, left the keys in the ignition engine running, hand break on and blocking the car park entrance lol!
security wasnt too pleased!

Yes. And just to show you life is NOT fair this is what happened.

We spotted a small, sickly hedgehog near our home and took him home. Found a nearby refuge place (private home) who said come round and leave him in one of the cages.

Was raining cats and dogs. I went there with the hedgehog, got out, got cage with hedgehog out, got torch and umbrella from boot and --- left keys in boot.

Much swearing later, rang wife who rang taxi to bring me the spare key from home. Taxi man didn't blink an eyelid (must happen more often than we think) but cost me a tenner in taxi money. I'm surprised he found me, standing in the rain looking a total idiot!

Let's hope the hedgehog survived, hey?

Good job you don't have a Panda, we have a competition for things like this  beware the initials IOTY

2nd good reason that you don't have a Panda, the boot can be opened whilst leaving the rest of the car locked, close the boot and ALL locked - bit of a bugga if your keys are in the boot  (no I haven't - yet - don't you just love tempting fate ? )

For anyone with a spare remote key, if you lock your keys in, call someone with the spare remote key and ask them to unlock it, should work through the phone ;)

My old Focus, if I unlocked it and you didnt open a door, it automaticly locked itself after a minute. The Golf is worse, had to a help a woman when I was at work, she was putting her son in the car, left her keys on the front seat, went back to the house come out and the car had locked itself, with the keys on the front seat and the little boy in the back. We had to break into it.

Raining Cats & Dogs... whilst at a animal rescue place - the pun's deliberate right?

Well spotted.

I was just ROFL at the time.

Not.

Did I mention that it was dark too, so it made it even worse, especially spotting the taxi?

done this a few times. lol :)
Trafford centre.... 3 times in 1 night :(
Left keys in a customers car couple of times.
Open boot, put keys on floor put shopping in, shut boot... mega rush for keys... :) lol

Think the worst thing i have ever had done to me wi my car is... i had a phone call off my insurance telling me my car had been involved in a bad RTA and the car was a write off... would i be able to confirm where the car was... i said no its should be at the dealers its being repaired...... :S bit worried i rang my dealer and they sed its parked in the back with no wheels on... it hasn't been out lol :S bit strange (sorry for the off topicness)

I've come close to opening my boot but not unlocking the rest of my car, sticking my keys on the boot mat while I grab whatever I'm grabbing, and then closing the boot and leaving the keys firmly in the boot. Luckily I've realised every time and not locked them in there!
