General Key code sign on

Hey,

This morning my car didn't start straight away, and when it did the Key code sign was on and my time and mileage had reset itself. I turned the car off and re started it and the warning sign turned off. Is this the start of a big problem?

Oh yeh sorry, it's a punto, 2001, 1.2, just standard

I wounder if it could be the battery on its way out, as we have been getting low pressure at the momeant it would be noticeible..

What spark plugs are in the car & when were they last changed?

Ermm, I have no idea tbh, they were changed last year when it had a service i think.
Apparently I do need to change the HT leads or something so maybe thats why it happened?

Could be the battery if its never been changed. If it hasnt id reccomend it like.

Wrong plugs can spike the ecu causing problems like you describe.

Could be CAN line problem between body computer & ECU.Get errors read & look out for code D601.
