Just been out painting the calipers, thought I'd splash a little waxoyl around any protruding threads and brake unions while I was at it.

Found a nice little bit on the car which will no doubt become a rust trap in later years. There's a little tray formed into the inner arch, running front to back directly behind the strut. It'll catch debris nicely as you drive along.

If you're keeping the car or are interested in preserving it, might be worth splashing some rustproofer in there.

Got a pic, slightly fuzzy though. The tray is formed behind the strut on the inner wing where the arrows point. It's going to fill up with debris.

Thanks, I found the "tray" I'm suprised there isn't a drain hole!
I may try filling with expanding foam to stop the build up of debris.

Dont do that, it will trap moisture and definately make it rust.

Thanks(y) Will Waxoil do?
