I have a 1993 2.5TD motorhome. At the weekend it started to judder between 40 to 50 mph when either accellerating or braking. Pushing in the clutch stops the judder so I do not think it is wheel ballance. I suspect gearbox or maybe an engine mount. I gave the engine a good push/pull and it seems to hardly move at all. Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Simon

Its an old fashioned mechanical deisel injection system. No management system to worry about. the only light that has ever come on was the battery light when the fan belt snapped! I think at the weekend I will inspect the engine mounts as that is easy to do. I have heard the lower ones can fail. I hope it is this as I dont fancy replacing the clutch.

I had a similar problem on a 1990 motorhome, it was the inner drive shaft coupling, it just needed some grease, don't know if this is your problem, but its easy to check out.

Mine was caused by the left hand inner drive shaft joint. It had completely fallen to bits so no ammount of grease was going to fix it. Drive shaft now replaced and I will take it for a drive on Friday. Hopefully it will be back to its old self.
