MAP...manifold absolute pressure,I think thats what your talking about.Disconnecting it wont make any difference except log error code/warning light on.

Well it's fitted for a reason and disconnection should only really be used to highlight the failure. I disconnected mine yesterday to do just that and the car runs a lot better but I am not sure of the long term effects and will be investing in a new MAF.
Put it this way, if you disconnect the MAF on a VAG pd100 it after about 40 miles it cacks itself and the car starts running like a bag of spanners.
