Hey,

I've had a funny thought regarding the slight rattle i get from the driverside wheel arear when cornering hard :D......

I replcaed my driver side wheel arch liner a few months back now with a salavaged one from a stilo being dismantled.
When removing my old one for this replacement one i noticed that, on the new one the wheel arch liner is moulded so that a small, protruding square section slots up around the spring into the strut arear, however on the one i took out this had been clearly cut off, so that there was no plastic to go up into the strut area around the spring.

I looked at my passenger side one and this two has had this extra bit cut off..... so im wondering maybe the spring or something else is rubbing/rattleing against this extra bit that goes around the spring.

my question is, could all the JTD owners out there have a quick look at their wheel arch liners and see whether there is a small section that protrudes up around the spring, or whether it looks like something has been cut off.

Im probably going to cut it off anyway to see if it solves the rattle, it would just be interesting to see if any one else has had a visit from Freddy Krueger

Hey
I just bought a Stilo 106 16v Dynamic Reg 02 secondhand last week. Already it's been back to the garage where I bought it and it's in again on Monday. Problems are Aibag warning light and computer message, squeaky brakes and malfunctioning aircon. I've now surfed the net and found LOTS of complaints about this car and am wonderin' if it might be an idea if I ask the garage to swap it. I can't afford to keep having it going in the garage, nor can I be without wheels all the time. Any advice will be appreciated.

Starting your own tread would be a start. There will always be documentation of bad points on the net for absolutly any car. People don't feel the need to document when things are going well.
Any car of that age will have it's niggles. You have done the right thing by buying one with a warranty, so get them sorted and enjoy your car. Imagine what kind of golf you will get for the same money and th state that will be in.
