Hi all, me again, my beautiful little barchetta took me for a very fast spin for half an hour to the nearest itv (mot Spanish) centre yesterday in the very early hours (6 o'clock, earliest we are allowed out by local curfew rules) top down, pitch dark sky full of stars, great.

That's the good bit...

When it came to the test, all fine except for idle co2 limit at AVG 2.3 when apparently the very helpful inspector tells me it should be 0.51 max for the car. She is a 99.

So, failed!

Just fitted a new exhaust weeks ago and he reckons it might be blowing as it sounds a bit rumbly.

So.. gonna check the exhaust fit on Friday, but where else Should I focus?

Within last 2k kms have full service, oil, filters Inc air, plugs, cam belt, water pump, exhaust, gearbox oil, fuel filter, oil cooler, oil filter, etc.etc.

Might an ecu reset help? Haven't got diags but looking in the forum it seems you can force it by certain use of the ignition and waiting times, does anyone have the details of this procedure?

Cheers all, look forward to hearing from you.

So ratty how did u get on ??
It appears its a common problem for us barchetta owners here in Spain. I have the same issues every year, and its down to lambda sensor and or cat convertor.
So now i have a new cat convertor, and put it on for the itv, then take it vack off again to keep for the following year. !!

I think the route of the problem might have been the thermostat stock open, I replaced it today and the engine is running perfectly on level temp gauge and smells much less rich. So I will run her a couple of tanks and see how it goes. Cheers
