When fitting the spax suspension kit, we cut the bumpstops in half on all 4 corners. After realising that GeX's sei was sat on its bumpstops and cutting them, we inspected mine. From the looks of things its sat on the front bumpstops, or sits around 10mm away from them.

Obviously not good, is it wise to totally remove the bumpstops? I'm a little waeary of doing that.. its going to drop the car even nearer to the floor :(

Spax do seem to drop more than 40mm, I've ended up taking them off the black one. Oddly, the silver one is still on Spax but about 5-10mm higher, so they'll stay for now.

You could try getting uprated shorter stops, say Powerflex ones.

I dont mean to sound rude, but are you sure it sits on the fronts????

As if this is the case the tyre must be inside the arch, as that is a SERIOUS drop. Are you sure that its not just the suspension gaiter that is it really close to?

Any chance of getting a picture on here so we can have a look?

Pictures would be very helpful.

Mine were the same.. I cut some more of the bumpstop off... Seems to be sitting ok now...

It's very low though, but doesnt touch the arches, probably cos I've got 13" wheels

and this is a big pic of it when it was still on the 185/60/r13 tyres

it might not be sat on them, but its very near - meaning i have little to no suspension travel on the fronts

that top pic looks a lot lower than 40mm mate.. closer to 60!!!

i was measuring mine up the other day, and yours looks a lot lower than i had planned for a 40mm drop....

just cut a bit more off the stops, an u aint gonna get a lot of travel till u are touchin tyre to arch with that sort of distance!

does look damm good tho hehe :D

Pete has beat me to it,

Like he said if you measure from the very centre of the centre cap to the top most part of the arch I think a Standard Cinq is in the region of 340mm, so yours being 280 means thats a 60mm drop (Just like Pete said).

i measured from the centre cap of the wheel, the where the wheel arch starts. the metal, not the lining (mines come away slightly from when it used to rub!)

my girl friends cinq is dropped 60mm and looks ace, my sei is dropped 55mm on novitec springs and its clunky when doing a 3 point turn, i have checked the springs to see if its broke and its ok, so i dont know what it could be.
i want it lower though, shall i cut bumpstops cos i am sure it rests on them
