An elderly lady has just smacked into a car that was parked behind mine and shunted the car into my boot - this has pushed the bumper right in and the boot too as I can no longer close it fully - it appears bent.

With the way things are these days is it likely to be repaired or written off?

I'll be contacting the insurance (Hastings) in the morning. :(:(:(

You opened the boot to see if the spare wheel is wedged? Will give an idea as to how far it has moved.

Not yet, too dark - will do in the morning.
If it's not shall I give it a few bangs until it is lol...

I want a different car. :)

Well I can get the spare wheel out so maybe not moved that much.
At the very least it will need a new bumper, the door is bent, and some respraying.

Going to ring insurance co now.

FWIF This much damage to my Panda was quoted as a little over two grand in 2009

Items to be replaced are:
Complete new tailgate
Complete new rear bumper
Exhaust back box - this was damaged.
Rear cross member being replaced.
Rear panel needs repair and some paint blending in.

Whats the car worth? It certainly wasn't far off of write off with that level of work tbh.

OK got it back now.
Total was £3,881 in all.
Cost me £250 excess that I'll be getting back when the insurance sort it.

One little problem, when it came off the truck, every time starting it complained of being almost empty of fuel - yet it had 1/4 tank. I put another £15 worth in and its gone away.
Any suggestions before I mention it to the repairers???

Well, this I think is where we part.
I have added this to my previous thread - this is certainly a write off, the insurance have already paid out and I am now joining the Skoda owners club.

I hit some ice\slush then the central barrier.
TBH I am glad to be rid of the car, I hated it.
Bye all :)

Welcome to the VAG club, glad you’re ok from the accident.

I'm OK, was a bit shaken.

All I have left now is a full set of manuals.
Am now a member of a skoda forum.
