Don't mismatch the memory with the mobo, lower spec ram will only cause a bottleneck in the buses and slow the whole system down, the pc will only be as fast as the slowest component, match the specs and save yourself the hassle.

more like 1.6 times faster, yes it uses same memory, these cpu's overclock alot i've had mine running at same speed as the 6000 model and no problems
