Is the mk2 now called the punto clasic ?

I think only on the continent -- or somewhere (brain's a bit foggy after a couple of gottles of geer...) -- where it's still manufactured. It has bigger mirrors (which would be nice, except they may be 'sided' -- i.e. not usable on a LHD car...): but that's about the limit of my tired brain's knowledge....

So tired, I should have Googled first....

Here you go! (y)

They stopped making the mk2b for the uk in 2006 but continued in other parts of the world up till 2012 with the name punto classic, although recently I hear production had restarted,

I believe it is technically fiats most successful car

Reminds me of the 127. Rust magnet but sold in huge numbers and at one time the best selling in it's class over here. It thought it was an Alfasud:)
There has to be a PR job going in Turin.

127

Getting back on Topic the Classic has a silver plastic grill and sometimes bigger door mirrors

its essentially the same car as the mk2b with can have very different specs to uk cars like no radio, 1.3 diesels with climate and cruise control but active interior trim etc or like this one no bump strips on the door seems fairly common

Edit: oh and they always put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car !!!
