Technical is the 1.2 16v ECU same as 1.2 16V sporting ECU ??

hi, im currently running a 1242 16v punto sporting engine
using a 1242 NON sporting ECU.

are they the same. ??

will it prefer running on the correct one ?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean.
Are you using a 1242 16v elx ecu. Which is the same as the 1242 16v sporting ecu?

Or

Are you using the 1242 8v ecu? Which works (spliced to the injectors) but is different to the 1242 16v ecu.
If it is the latter you'd benefit by:
A remap
B replacing the 1242 8v ecu with the 16v ecu.

Check the part code mate. I dont think theres any diffrence tbh

No difference
sporting was lower and had a different set of gearbox ratios, no difference in engines.
