General Is it normal to have a big hissing sound from petrol cap when released

Hi does anyone know is it normal to have a hissing sound come from fuel cap when opening it after driving because my injector comes on 10 mins in driving or If I sit for about 20 secs foot on accelerator doing 2000 rpm

Hissing sound is normall. Injector light means there is a fault code being stored in the ECU. You can buy the cables from ebay and look for iawscan2 off the net to read them yourself.

Fiats fault. When everybody else was using engine with ! fiat used an injector.

check codes , not sure if they were fitted but would probably come up "evap" fault

They do have evaporative loss system.

Are they cheap to buy and easy to get hold of

It's the charcoal cannister and etc.

But I really can't see it being an issue -- as long as the wiring to the solenoid (and the solenoid itself) is in place the ECU will be quite happy. It's just a passive emissions device, won't cause fuelling/running issues.

mine doesnt hiss (air getting out?) after i replaced my gas lines- those that go directly to the cap, some punks cut them to steal my gas, havent noticed any bigger consumption tho
