Hey
I'm looking to buy get my first ipod. I was going to get a 3G ipod touch and jailbreak it but then i found out i wouldn't be able to turn it off and back on without using a PC. Now this seems like a huge inconvenience to me and makes it not worth doing.

I'm therefore thinking of getting a 2G instead and jailbreaking that. So which is the best option, a jailbroken 2g or standard 3g?

cheers

Why do you need it jailbroken?

I only jailbreak my iPhone so I can unlock it - even that isn't worthwhile anymore as I could just get O2 to officially unlock for me.

free and third party apps

arent jailbreaking and unlocking different things anyway? I didnt think a jailbroken iphone was unlocked

I don't currently have any apps you need a jailbreak for on the iPhone - I look at them, then find that most of what you need is available on the iTunes store - largely for nothing or pennies.

To unlock an iPhone, you first need to jailbreak.
