Hi all,

New to this forum and would like to ask for some help.

I have a Oct 96 P Reg Ulysee which has developed a very strange fault.

Once in a while when pressing in the clutch there is a snapping sound and the clutch pedal 'gives' then goes straight to the floor. I can get my foot underneath it bring the pedal back up after putting the gearbox into neutral.

I then press the clutch pedal in again and it's as if nothing has happened, i can change gear no problem. As I said it only happens once in 100 gear changes if even that often but I am worried there could be long term damage going on.

Anyone any ideas? Or has anyone any schematics for the clutch pedal mechanism they can help me with.

Any help much appreciated.

Regards

Craig

Check the cable connection at the clutch, and pedal box, see if you can force a replication of the error. It may be able to be fixed without replacing the cable. Also check for freys in the cable at the points that you can see, if it is freyed, this will indicate the condition of the cable that you can not see.
