Just wanted some feedback and/or suggestions on my seicento SX interior.

I've already swapped out the seats for the blue sporting ones + swapped out the door cards, and have swapped out the dash fascia panel with the carbon effect one. Also fitted a new gear gaiter.

Any more suggestions or tips for the interior?

Here are some piccies of before and after of the interior, may post exterior pics once she's had a wash, she's a tad dirty ;)

Wow, SX door cards go up to the top?!? Never knew that...got cogs whirring in my head now ;)

I think that you've reached the end of the 'easy' mods...Lighting is an option, just put an LED thing in my roof light that I had knocking around and it definitely makes it feel more up-market/ modern. Also footwell lights if you're into that :p Could possibly do a rev counter (if your engine is compatible) and a few extra gauges where the center vents are (I've done this).

Other than that it looks good! (y)

This is a question ive been asking myself for a long time, I think there is alot you can do but then how far can you go without looking tacky or without comprimising the road noise

There is litterally endless things you could do and as with the engine mods pretty much everything you can think of has been done, from a stripped out, caged full on rally car look to a fibreglass covered ice orientated dash install, im looking to strip mine out in some places to save weight but I still want a few home comforts, dash flocking in my opinion looks smart but others like painted dashes or just plain simple standard dashes, as already suggested a few added dials can look smart aswell

The possibilities are endless all depends on your personal prefrence and how far you can go in terms of putting ur imagination into practice

I run a sparco suede steering wheel with a lowered column momo gear knob and a set of subaru impreza seats on moddified runners, I want a cage next though :p

Yeah the cards go up to the top and slot into the rubber bit between the window, I was thinking about re-covering my old ones but I kinda like the smaller ones.
What do you mean by led light? Is the standard one just a bulb? Isn't the led dimmer though so hard to do anything inside the car if its dark.

I was looking at the rev counters from the sporting models, I believe the 2002 SX models have the connection under the dash for it, and mines a 2002 SX so all I'd have to do is cut a hole in my dash, but I don't know whether or not I trust myself too lol

Well the one I had was some random 9 leds (less current draw from leds means more 'lights' compared to a standard filament bulb) in a square from halfords and it's almost too bright at night - although mine is sat on the plastic/glass whilst I work out how to mount it. But definitely not too dull! ;)

As long as you've got a 1108 engine (not sure about 899) it would be fine...I always thought it was a blanking plate on the SX/S!

Or, an extreme option...

Get a full dash from a MPI Sporting, flock it (or perhaps highlight bits in leather with blue stitching for example) and wire it up. I believe that they are not the easiest to remove but hey, it you've got the time anything is possible on these cars! :D

All depends on budget really.
Stickerbombing is an obvious option too, if that's your scene.

Cheers (y)

Might look into getting some led roof lights then, definitely want a purer white than the dull yellow of the standard bulbs, don't happen to have a link to some that are similar to yours/ones you got?

I'm not thinking anything too extreme, the most I'd do to the dash is probably replace the bulbs behind all the dials to make them green to match the sporting dash bulb colour, seen a kit for doing it on ebay that's pretty cheap.

I was thinking about getting some carbon fibre vinyl and putting it around the electric window buttons and the air vent bits where it's black to match the carbon effect dash panel, but I don't know whether or not that would just look taccy? what do you reckon?

Yeah that's what I've been trying to figure out, where there line in between looking nice and looking taccy, suppose it's just down to what you personally like to be honest. I like things customised as much as possible, but nice and simple.

With the dash I'm thinking simple, might add carbon vinyl to the black parts on the dash; window buttons and vents. Might Photoshop them on first to see if it would look nice though, or whether it would just look cheap and taccy.

& a roll cage, you'll definitely have to post some pics if you manage to get around to doing that :D

What are some non-essential things to strip to make it a bit lighter? I was thinking of removing the spare wheel, but you never know when you'll need it. I have breakdown cover, so I suppose it's not a huge problem, they can just tow me home and then I can change it there :)

There's no bulbs in your speedo (2002), they're all PCB surface mount LED's.
There's a Guide in the Punto section on how to replace them & as they point out expect to destroy a few unless you're very proficient with a soldering iron. The kits probably don't give you any spares so best to buy them loose (& cheaper!).
The Sporting rev counter has a clear bulb shining through a red plastic dial mount so it's going to be hard to change from being red or red-ish.
Hazard, heated window etc buttons are standard (non s/m) LED's.
Can't remember what type the centre consul back-lights are but they shine through a green or red tinted plastic film according to the year (or model?) so not easy to change the colour either.
You don't expect Fiat to make things easy do you! :bang:

This is the exact one that I have I believe, if you want the exact one! Can probably find it online cheaper though.

Carbon fiber effect could be good but it would have to be well done and not OTT, as the surround is quite subtle in its effect. Could tie it all together though, so I'm sitting on the fence for this one ;)

Edit: Just noticed it says not legal for highways use...very odd. Its not too bright and I know no-one who drives with the light on. Guess it's your own risk then :p

Well the Spare wheel will be going the rear seats will be gone the parcel shelf and mounts rear seatbelts rear quarter cards then things like the door cards door pockets ect then ill cut the inner skin of the door and remove the window and mech then replace the window with perspex and the cut out with a carbon fibre sheet just to add a littke of the lost strength back then things like the radio and speakers will go inner carpets and sound deadening then she'll be tucked up in the workshop as a weekend car :p

Sounds like a very big job, without all those, especially the back seats, it will be much lighter. Is it not a problem if you get it too light though? changes the centre of gravity? not enough grip if too light etc? or does that only apply if you basically remove everything except the engine? lol

The kit that I was looking at says you don't need to solder, simply pull the old ones out and slot the new ones in, providing you get them the right way around they should work without any need for any soldering? or is that a load of crap to try and get a quick sale?

& yeah on the dash it's a green bit of plastic which the light shines through, which was why I was thinking about green speedo to save me having to do anything about that.

Just watch if you want to go on a track day most insist that the majority of trim stays in place as originally intended

The options are endless I've got mx5 seats, 126 wheel on a lowered column, very long stainless gear stick, custom handbrake, the back will be boarded and carpeted, no sound proof at all. Rest of the trim is standard. My battery is in behind the passenger seat (wont fit in the bay)with a secret cut off for anti theft reasons.

What's removed doesn't really change the car much to affect c of g. The parts aren't that heavy and imo there's little point in going ott ie removing the dash etc most other mods put the weight on again anyhow

Maybe earlier cars ('97? or '98?) did have bulbs behind the dash . Yours is an '02 -it has s/m led's, got on in front of me in bits & there are 6 red led's for the backlight & needles (+2 more if you want to change the LCD display backlight).
You will want 10 Green PLCC-2 led's (SMD SMT 3528/1210).... £1.98 on Flea-bay!
There is a Sei workshop manual on here that tells you how to remove the dash & if you follow the Punto guide I mentioned it will walk you through changing them & FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS removing the needles (you might also want to paint the needles green whilst they're off).

Alternatively you could carefully take the centre consul to pieces & change the plastic filter (done it myself) that way you could have any colour you choose. If you want to stay red to match the rev couter probably easier to buy a second hand centre console from a Sporting .
