Well, it's that time of year again, and given the propensity of our users to share their best deals, I thought I'd do mine.

Last year, I took Chris Knott up on their offer and got a very competitive price of £256.41 fully comp. with protected NCD, business use, legal cover, monthly payments, etc, etc.

This year, the renewal price from them was £277 which in my eyes wasn't acceptable. So, after doing my usual thing of getting quotes online and over the phone, managed to find a quote with Bell for £275. However, with their new customer discount and discount for paying in full, the price dropped to £202.

So I called Chris Knott, spoke to a lovely lady who checked out the details from Bell and promptly matched the price in exchange for an extra £50 on my excess (now up to £150), which is still less than the excess from Bell (£160).

So I paid up and can now look forward to another year but this time with no more monthly payments :)

Well done again Chris Knott :)

Guys, I thoroughly recommend you get a quote from them at the very least :)

I've been with CIS (The Co-op) for well over 20 years, just renewing each year.

This year I decided to do a bit of shopping around. Tried the well knowns; confused.com; moneysupermarket.
I also thought I'd try the CIS site for a quote.
JESUS H CHRIST!! Shed loads cheaper than my renewal price with them.
Rang up, gave them a gobfull of abuse about loyal customers being shafted etc.
Got an apology and he set up my new policy there and then.

I forego the voluntary excess. By doing so over the years I've saved myself loads of dosh.
Why? Because I don't have accidents that I'm to blame for! Only been involved in accidents 3 in 30 years.

£ 235.00 - Comprehensive, full no claims, protected no claims, no voluntary excess, legal expenses, EU cover up to 30 days, 1 SP30 declared, pay monthly @ 18%ish interest.

Forgot to add, the reason why I stayed with the Co-op, even though they weren't the cheapest and I wasn't happy with the lack of customer loyalty, is their ethical policies.
