What a bunch of to**ers, I have spent all afternoon trying to sort a quote , online to my insurer who insures my Fiat Doblo 1.6 for £218,they wanted £416 to insure a 1.3 Vauxhall Combo! I went on phone to same Broker who I have used for two years and he brought it down to down to £365 and thought he was doing me a favour, even though I pointed out that the Vauxhall Combo 1.3 was the same badge engineered van with a smaller engine. He said Vauxhall parts were dearer, which is crap as the only thing different is the badge on the front and if accident damaged, insurers wouldn't use genuine parts anyway!!!
So in the end I tried Moneysupermarket and got policy for £265 and it was with the same broker! Even more annoying the company that actually insures it was one I had used 2 years before for the same Doblo1.6 when it was £195.

Makes no sense at all nowadays car insurance, was looking for a new car for my 21 year old lad that’s not got any no claims and he said he fancied a Mini. Obviously I looked for a 1.4 petrol as they’re the lowest insurance group…………oh no silly me, it’s £200 cheaper if he has a much more powerful and much higher insurance group Cooper rather than a 1.4 Mini One. Work that out! 🤷

My argument is there is no loyalty from them these days.
I had max. no claims bonus in the old days 60%, started a Motor Trade Policy and they said private car NCB was not any good, 40 years later still with clean NCB, retired and cancelled Trade Policy and was told by Insurance company that I had to start again for No Claims Bonus!

Agreed, certainly no loyalty. Always gets me that your renewal price is more often than not higher than the previous year even if nothing has changed, and don’t even get me started on my AA breakdown renewal every year, they must think I came down in the last shower 🤨
