We recently acquired a greyhound and needed a suitable car to transport it. There's no way I'm parting with my 500 so we decided to part ex my wife's 03 reg StreetKa. Anyway it turns out it was only worth £500 (net) in px, taking into account the no part ex discount, so we kept it!
Anyway, now we need to insure it as the original insurance has been changed to cover the new car. Does anyone have experience/recommendations for multi car insurance? Most multicar insurance I've seen are for multicar households ie several people with one car each, not one person with several cars!

Hi Mike

We don't actually have a multi-car policy per se but we do like this type of arrangement and so we can give extra discounts for additional cars, etc. Subject to no claims, etc, we can give you the equivalent NCB (as an Introductory Discount) on your second car which you have on your first!

Hope this helps.

So you now have 3 cars and only 2 drivers? That's an attractive proposition. We could probably mirror your bonus onto this car and we'd definitely give you a multi-policy discount. Please give us a call or PM me your number and I'll get someone to call you.

I forgot to mention that we're also running an offer at the moment. If you request a quote we'll put you into the Chris Knott Prize Draw for a VIP Tour of Silverstone for Two. Just a thought.

Not sure where you got that from, its multicar, can be one person driving them all if wanted.

Give the usual people a call, Aviva, Direct Line, Admiral etc.

Worth checking https://www.defaqto.com/guides/insurance/ to see how the policies compare also, such as Avivas 5 start insurance with Admirals 3 (y)

I was under the impression that most of the big insurance companies state that an NCD can only be applied to one vehicle and to get a discount on a second car generally needs a specialist insurer. I thought some of the people on here with collections of cars could advise. I'll try giving the "usual suspects" a ring and see what they say.
The Defaqto site is a bit confusing, for example Zurich have 5 star and 2 star ratings how do I know which I'm buying?

I've only had more than 1 car insured once, at the time I did it through Adrian Flux and they basically mirrored the NCB onto the 2nd policy, essentially starting from zero but heavily discounted to begin with.

That's exactly the sort of thing we're offering but there'll also be a multi-buy discount thrown in (and the Silverstone draw ;)).

Thats the same regardless of if its a multivehicle policy or not regarding NCD, most will mirror existing NCD if you meet certain criteria's, so defo worth checking them all out :)

Re Zurich, they offer different policies, so you'll need to ask them what they're quoting you for to see where it sits with Defaqto (y)

Most insurance companies will do this now if you meet criteria's of theirs :)

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
