Hi guys. Got an issue with my 09 Grande Punto. Fuse keeps blowing for the dash instrument panel. Only goes pop when I either turn ignition on or off. Also the same fuse for the rear brake lights but can't seem to find a fault with the rear brake lights.

Hi guys. Got an issue with my 09 Grande Punto. Fuse keeps blowing for the dash instrument panel. Only goes pop when I either turn ignition on or off. Also the same fuse for the rear brake lights but can't seem to find a fault with the rear brake lights.

Could be a faulty ignition switch or the wires directly behind. Internally the switch will have wiping contacts and as you turn the switdh to ON or OFF something may be shorting to earth. I think the clue is that you say it happens to transisioning to OFF. You need to find a circuit diagram as see what connections there are to the switch and where they go.
