I've just installed my new components in the front of my Bravo. I've had my 4 channel amp for a while, but only using channels 3&4 bridged for my sub, awaiting the day I get round to getting some components.

Well, I just bought some, fitted them (Cables running down the plastic sill/footplate things down each side,) and strapped the crossovers up into a) above the glovebox and b) in the fusebox area, using those little plastic zippy tie things (Like the police use for handcuffing sometimes?!). I used all the standard Fiat speaker positions, and just made brackets where needed.

And it sounds great. Never thought there was anything wrong with the standard Fiat front speakers, so didn't know how it would sound different, but man, it sounds so much fuller now!

Then I reassembled the whole car, and went to put it away in the garage, and weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the most annoying sound ever coming through the speakers, changing pitch with the engine revs.

I've just checked and made-good the ground connection, using one of the rear seat hinge mounts, sanding it first to expose metal, and sandwiching the wire with a new, clean washer. No difference. Even made sure the ground connection on the amp was sound.

Anyone else had this problem? What else can I try?

The funny thing is it never made this noise when the same amp was running my sub, and it's been doing that for about 18months. Makes me think it might be down to crossover/wire placement.

Don't worry gys, I fixed it! I had the RCA leads running down the same side of the car as the power to the amp. Seperating them removed the noise completely! I've now got the RCAs running down one side, and the power down the other.

ah i have the same problem with my bravo, i installed a new pioneer dvd system and have the weeeeee noise to. the bastards. its a pain in the arse to canging my wiring thou because it all comes from a tv tuner from under the passenger seat, anyone know of a way i could possible isolate the power cable from the speaker cables without rewiring, it isn't he RCA cable thou because this was happening before i added my amp. RF shealding possibly? i really dont want to have to rewire the power cables as it means takin the whole carpet up. but suppose if thats all i can do i'll have to do it.

Won't that device degrade sound quality as it's another 'thing' in the way of the sound signal?

Those phono connectors on it don't look cheap as well.
