Has anyone installed a Flettner roof vent on their MK1 Scudo?
I'd like to put one in, but I'm never drilled a hole in a roof before, so I have a few questions. I don't want to make a complete mess of things.
It looks like the Flettner TCX-2 is what I'm after. The ribs on my '01 Scudo are 6" apart, so the req'd 5.75" is met.
I could get a holesaw just for this one use, but that seems like a waste of money.
Would it be possible to make up a template, draw the hole to cut, drill a few holes and cut away with a jigsaw, then clean it up w/a round file?
Or would it be better/a whole lot easier to just spend a few bob on getting a holesaw and making a cleaner and quicker cut?
Should I use tape over the area and cut through that?
Should I use some sort of oil while cutting to keep things cool?
Thanks for all your advice!
