Just got my K&N 57i induction kit and been reading the instructions. all fine except the bit that says to cut the radiator, someone said to take the pipe a different route, but that wasn't for a 1.6sx.
Basically, should i cut where it says, or take the pipe somewhere else?
Cut NOT the radiator but the PLASTIC SHIELD attached to the Radiator fairing; down by the Bottom Grille on my HLX. (If really desperate I'll email a Piccie...
You then need to OVAL the Pipe and put in place but...

If done properly I suggest that you also LEAVE the normal Air Intake in Place and feed / fix the pipe underneath; engine side.... This gives the Filter double the Air... Also don't leave the pipe to near the filter 'engine end'.... Too close can cause swirling problems around the filter and actually constrict Induction.
Induction Noise seems to slightly decrease (which I prefer)and the filter breathes better. There is a noticable increase in Midrange Torque; but I doubt if HP is increased by more than 3-5%.
