K&N 57-0455

Best mod for it ever and I cant sing its praises enough. Makes it feel like a totally different car.....in your mind...but hey, who cares.

:D;)

Did you have the fish? No...I ate it.

try green cotton.....ma m8 got 1 4 his mk2 and he loves the thing, dunt shut up bout it actually..... my induction this my induction that, gunna slap him 1 day if he dunt b quiet;)

How much do you think an induction kit on my mk2 1.2 8v would raise my insurance by? Considering I'm 18 and already paying £2k p/a?

well dont tell em and it wont cost you anything lol. havent got one on my current car but did on my last one and never told them. only way they fnd out is if they inspect car for sum reason and how likely is that ?. anyone else out there who dont tell em ??? or am i the only sneaky/stupid one :D

2001 Punto sporting in sprint blue with matching Mr Bump air freshner all together now mmmmmmm

the 8v makes a lovely sound with an induction kit.

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, wish it'd clean itself!

It's not wise to not tell your insurance company about ANY mod, whether seen or unseen. Remember that you are giving them an excuse not to pay out, and if you read the small print of your policy, you will see they are well within their rights to refuse, no matter how small a mod. I've even declared my remote locking upgrade and clear repeaters.

Of course it doesn't matter so long as you never crash or are damaged in any way..

Spirito di Punto | M-reg 55SX, black, 5dr. Clear repeaters. Remote locking fitted, no light confirmation yet though - need relay fitted

im agreeing wit pritch, it may boost it 100quid or woteva but if u have a smash and they find out, ur gunna lose alot more when they dont couph up 4 ur car, it shudnt be that bad anyway and if it is jus take ur pass plus or sumit :p

On the mk2 1.2 8v the k&n makes no insurance increase. well not on mine anyway. I have heard others say this too so its quite common for insurance co's not to mind very much. it only raises bhp by 4 and so its too minor to qualify as a "performance enhancing mod"

hope you are happier now and probably on your way to the shop now

:D

K&Ns are cool and cheap, and sound quite nice though
although i've heard that BMC carbon airbox induction kits are a lot better for performance, not sure about sound thoguh as i've never heard one!
ne1 here got one???

I just went cheapo style.

Bought a Unviversal GMax Air Filter for £30 mate got me the tube for £14 and he fitted it, so total cost £44. :D

Sounds awesome, tend to be even more right foot heavy now tho, just love the roar at 5000 Revs.

I'm with Tesco's and I put mine on the insurance for no extra cost told them it wasn't a "performace" filter tho, so kinda covered my back a bit :D

There never gonna know if it is a performance filter, if the car gets totalled they'll see it, know it's on the policy and how are they going to tell if it increases speed if the cars wrecked?

Touch wood that best not happen tho!!! :D

Punto Sporting 16v MK2 in Black,
GMax Airfilter, Wind Deflectors, Sporting Badges on Skirts.

Serious go for a pipercross inducktion kit for 1.2 8v. it Adds such a nice sound to the car its unreal.
You can order it from halfords and it cost about 60squid i think.

Pipercross is the way forward for the 1.2 8v
