Hi guys, i know these are all just sound and nothing else but was thinking of puttin one in my uno, just wondering where to put it? should it be placed onto the intake on the bottom of the air box (where the wee pipe from exhaust manifold goes?).

Sam (Spamor) had a Max Power one fitted (in his 1.0 IE) straight onto the throttle body. He had to cut away some of the rubber from it’s base to get it to fit, and he said he had to keep an eye on it as it was prone to falling off .

He gave it to me when I bought his Turbo seats, smoothed boot, bumpers and other bits. I threw it over the wall at the tip as it had a hole burned in the lining.

You’ll need a filter for the breather too. See post 6 picture 6 here - https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=28070

They can be fitted else where with additional piping for example, Ghost’s Cinq https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=3873&cat=500&ppuser=1632

Are you keeping the Uno? :D

yeah theres been no interest init and need to save up more money anyway, job situation isnt secure yet so keep what you know isnt going to let you down, just wanna do things that will make me happy with it. I was thinking of (dunno if this is possible or what it would be like) but you know on the bottom of the air box theres a hole where theres a small pipe from heat/exhaust manifold, could a pipe be put onto the hole on air box, lead away and an induction kit placed on that? or would that just not work?

chas's one looks very trick, sounds very nice too!

Boy Racer K&N here we are!

This is one fitted to my Uno. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what model K&N it is as it was given to me by Louie, who I think got it from Bushboy! Maybe Bushboy could shed some light on it?

Looks nice, sounds nice, and seems to make the throttle response that bit more crisp. Might even up the power by 1 or 2 bhp, and it does seem to drive better with it. 1 or 2 bhp when you've only got 45 to start with might actually make a difference ;)

But don't expect any great power gains, because it won't give you that.

Oh, and it has to come off and be replaced with the standard airbox and hot air pipe come cold weather (like now!) else the carburetor ices up all the time. Will be putting it back on round about April, though I've had carb icing even as late as then and as early as mid September. Definitely a summer air filter :p

no it wasnt :p that one came on the white uno I bought a while back. thats a specific Uno K&N for the carb model 999cc. no idea on part numbers etc. came with the car :)

The Cinqi K&N fits the injection 999cc. dunno about the 1.1. The engine block is the same as the cinqi block for the 1.1 but i doubt the throttle body is as its a different fueling system.

Get your hands on a cheapo cinqi induction kit (like K&N) and see if it fits, if it does then I HIGHLY suggest getting your hands on a Cinqi GSR kit. they are the ******** :p. Might have a little bit of trouble getting it past the distributor (cinqi doesnt have one), but i recon you will probably manage to get it underneith. Looking around £120 for a new one. well worth the money if it will fit the throttle body, measure yours and i will tell you if it will fit. you will need to do a bit of modding to the plenum bit that actually bolts to the throttle body as the bolts will be in the wrong place but thats easily done with a drill and some silicone or filler :p

I think you well earned the KnN cheers :)

Hey, it was all good fun! Seems like so long ago, working on Bianca until 11pm when it was just starting to get too dark to work outside. Now it's dark at 5pm. Roll on summer

I’ve seen the picture before, but I never realised how well it polished up (y). Tidy.

The K&N polished up really easily, but as you know the rocker cover took a lot more work. Must have used half a tube of Autosol to get it that shiny. I guess it's under the bonnet that I make my one concession to be 'bling', especially as you know how anti Chav and Bling I am :p

Mind you, I like to think a polished rocker cover and chromes K&N are quite tasteful and help brighten up the engine bay ;)

What’s on the other end of the breather pipe Chas . I’ve just had a chuckle at your air horn too :D.

Erm, bit naughty as there isn't anything on the other end of the breather pipe  I should put a catch tank/ container there really. It's just a bit of old heater hose used to direct the breather fumes away from the engine compartment to the lower back part of the engine bay. As the fumes get pushed out and it's rather a long hose it probably doesn't need a filter! Still, at the moment it's got the standard airbox/ filter back in place so my carburetor doesn't ice up!

The airhorns are great by the way. Twin airhorns! Way, way louder than the weedy beep that came with the standard horn. When I sound my horn now the other drivers think some great monster is behind them and quickly get out of the way. Then a little old red Uno goes past them :D

Nothing on the end of the breather pipe Chas . With the pipe going down hill, doesn’t all the Oil siphon out? :p.

I thought the cam cover looked shinier then ever before :). I suspected it was the camera angle or Photoshop help . Good work.

I can’t wait for the longer days. I’ve got so much Uno stuff to be getting on with.

Regards,
