Afternoon all

purchased this which arrived yesterday Punto Induction

i've got it together ok but when driving it sounds as it should then all of a sudden it sounds like its blowing like mad....now it elbow was rather massive over the throttle body and i tried to get it as tight as i could....

was this same on other peoples kits or is there a way of making it a better fit???

The elbow is a little loose fitting for my liking also tbh, Mine only makes a lot of noise when I get to 2.5k rpm or 3/4 of the way down the noisy pedal.

yeh mine is the same but when it starts to blow i feel a drop in power.

i'll put the old seal from the original airbox on and put the elbow over than and see if i can make it more tigher

mine makes a blowing noise and my elbow is secure on the throttle body, and never once have i had any power loss, i always have power......not that a punto has much power to offer anyway:rolleyes:

haha..... i think i just need secure it to the throttle body better, still need to get a way to secure it proper full stop as cable ties are my friend at the moment

wait....your using cable ties to secure it:confused:
on mine ive used the correct diameter jubilee clip elbow fastened over tb then secured tight with clip, these clips are cheap as a bag of nuts my friend:D
surely your kit came with all of this? whereas mine never did cause i had this kit of a fellow member on here but only had the pipe and filter i brought the rest:)

noooo...got a jubilee clip over throttle body, cable tie where i need connect it to battery tray or somewhere equivalent to secure the pipe

Most of the kits come with a strap which can be fastened to the top of the gearbox at one end, and (suitably shortened) to a jubilee clip around the metal to silicone interface at the other.

If the single jubilee clip at the TB end is all that's supporting the weight, well, it won't -- it'll fall off.

mines behind battery tray it sits there nice anf tug no movey, while its debatable on the cold feed of 8v and 16v i was told behind battery holder its away from engine cold good enough for me

That's bang on where I have mine, the only issue I've thought of is if it does come loose with it being fairly weighty its going to cause some acceleration as it drops on the throttle cable cam.

yeah ive always thought about that but so far so good:pwatch now its gonna fall of and ill hit some high revs:D
i tend to check it on a weekly basis when i do my weekly checks on my oil, coolant, etc etc:)

i have the strap just need to sort out connecting it which i will do this weekend as i ain't got the time in the week to sort with something like this Rubber Clip

i wanted mine behind the battery tray but my abs motor means i only have one option

the filter there will be very hot cause its near the exhaust manifold.. the best you have to do is to it a ram air kit near the filter so you will only get fresh air from outside engine bay ;)
