Hei.

I'm trying to replace the good'old air filter and its huge box on top of the engine with an induction kit. Problem... There isn't one specifically made. K&N makes to turbos only, but Greenfilters make for the 1.0i.e. They say it won't fit the 1.1i.e. (1108cc). Aren't the engines and throttle bodies mainly the same?

Is there any other way to make my own kit, with air through the bumper? Could I pull a pipe from the throttle body towards the bumper and attach the filter there, so air will flow onto the filter directly?

If I attach the filter on top of the throttle body, won't it get hot air mainly?

And there are two more hoses... One is the oil breather, and another tiny one wich actually sucks air. What about these??? A small filter perhaps connecting these two?

I'm thinking of making my own.

If I get a K&N filter and mount it on top of the throttle body, and direct the cold-air intake towards it, will it work?

What about the breather hose and the little negative pressure hose?

Anyone got any ideas?

The K&N routes the breather and small vacuum hoses into the base of the filter - no extra breather filter required. The cold air ducting will only be of any use on the move, not if you are stuck in traffic though.

If you have the cash, a filter such as Green Twister or BMC carbon dynamic airbox have the filter enclosed and ducting to allow it to breathe cold air from wherever you choose.

Hei.

I did get response from the K&N importer in Norway. They say I either have to make one as yours Pete, or attach two filters to the engine. One at the top of the injection unit, and one small one to the oil brather. The little vacuum hose was to be closed with some plug. Then I should direct a cold air hose towards the filter. Since I'm not skilled enough to make my own induction kit, I think I will go for this solution. I have no idea how to make the tubes, or make anything fit the unit. So now I'm off to measure diameters and heights. If anyone thinks this is a waste of money and time, please let me know. I've heard I could get a few bhp more and cooler engine sound :D, the engine would breathe easier, and have a cleaner mixture [^]. If this is partly true, I think it's worth it.
