Greetings,

My car has started to develop a fault where if you indicate right sometimes (not every time) the low beams of the lights will turn off for a second or two. It can be a bit dodgy especially when driving at night, and I'm hoping the bloody things don't eventually decide to switch themselves off permanently!

I can hear the relay clicking when they go off, and I can hear it clicking again when they come back on. I'm relatively mechanically minded so my first thoughts were to check the earthing points on the car, would you start off with earthing points if you had the same problem?

I've actually had the same problem recently, when indicating they go off momentarily and then come back on again

I'm not sure if I want to start throwing parts at it just for the sake of it, an indicator stalk on eBay anyway is about £100. I can't imagine how much the dealer would shaft me for it, but I'll have a look at the instructions on how to remove the indicator stalk. :)

Removing the stalk, requires removal of the airbag, whilst in it's self not too difficult, it does require the battery removing for 30 minutes prior to starting the job.

A used stalk costs about £50.
I sold my old faulty one recently for a tenner.

No-one apart from us then...? Looks like I'll have to take it to a Fiat dealer.

This fault, or something very similar, has come up on the forum before. I'm sure a bit of time with the search function will steer you in the right direction.
