well its finally given up and had to be towed home:( the multipla has been running great apart from a starting fault most days when I come to start it in the morning it wont start I have to remove the key wait a few seconds then try again it usually fires up on the 3rd or 4th try sometimes the dash will flash up "code system error" but not every time. it does this with both keys the codes always read p0335 rpm sensor and u1600 immobiliser key fault. I fitted a new reciver round the barrel but it made no differance and also a crank sensor (just incase) but that made no differance either. I have been living with the fault for 5 months now but today when I came out of work it wouldnt start at all so I called a mate and towed it home with his multipla I have read the codes and its the same two as above any ideas will be great:confused:

Take the cover off the ECU (Passenger footwell, on the bulkhead), look for a single bit of loom with a (Red) relay at the end.

Try replacing this relay (there should be an identical one) in the fusebox on the suspension tower behind the battery.

Thanks momme had the same prob as above where car won't start due to key trouble will try this later I thought it was like the Renault after time immobiliser kicked in etc because I have to lock mine to get it to start
