i have a 95 punto 55 for the last few weeks now and again the orange keycode on dash has stayed on while driving, but goes out allright when restarting car.Today car will not start at all and orange keycode light is on...i have tried both blue keys and i have tried red key ...with no help..if i turn red key a couple of times i get a clicking noise and the orange key code light flashes in time with the click...to me it seems the immobilser is stuck on ...what can i do to fix or get round this problem...please ......

You need to get the car to the dealer as it seems something has gone a bit wrong with the immboliser's ability to read the keys.

There is a way you can get the car to start without key verification, but I've never tried it and it looks quite tricky. Grab your handbook. Hopefully you still have a small white booklet with Fiat Punto on it in big black letters. This is the supplement immobiliser info for post Feb 1995 cars, like ours, which have immobilisers.

The procedure involves bypassing the immobilser by entering the code on your original Fiat code card, and entering it by turning the ignition to MAR and making several presses of the clutch or throttle, I forget which, it really is a last-ditch, one-off effort for when you really have to start the car.

At this stage I'm going to assume you have that info in your handbook, and you can proceed. If you don't, but you've got all your codes, shout and I'll dig out mine and write up the instructions.

Try cleaning all the contacts under the steering wheel, this happened to me, I cleaned all the contacts and plugs and it was fine.
