Although i'm still happy with my Panda 85 Lounge, i'm really on a cross road what next.
I'm looking around what car next to buy.
Trade in for a new Panda make no sense at this point, dated tech with apparently a new one around the corner within 2 years.
Trade in for a 500 the same story, useless.
Further i see no FCA products that are even interesting enough to look at, let alone to buy.
What else to buy, i really don't know.

The most interesting car i see at this point is the Hyundai Kona Electric.

Venn diagram. One to tell you what you need, one to tell you what you want.

Hi.
Old tech is tried and tested, usually all the bugs are sorted out. A new engine can have it's issues and they can cause aggravation.
For me the Panda does all I need it to, I fill up once a month or perhaps 5 weeks, it starts first time and has got me to my destination each and every time. It has a very good Radio and after my AUX mod I can plug in my minidisc or the Wife's MP3 player. I don't and wont use a phone in the car as I don't want the distractions of it or bluetooth. Parts seem reasonably priced although so far I'm only talking front discs and pads. The car itself is uncommon enough for me to enjoy not being one of the crowd.
I also like the colour :D
Sometimes it better with the devil you know and all that!!!!

I don't have any plans to part with my Panda, just don't know what next if the time comes.

I was thinking to change my panda 1.3mjt, for a TA cross.
I like the more muscled look and easy of petrol, for intone use.

Diesel economy is the best think of my panda.

Saw an Ignis in the flesh for the first time yesterday. Quirky little beast, isn't it. Brings new meaning to the description 'boxy'!

I'd have an Ignis SZ-5 AllGrip at the drop of a hat, were the Panda 4x4 not around. They drive really well and will give a genuine 50-60mpg too. Great, smooth engine (albeit without the silly low torx of the TA) and a fun drive too. Broadly similar 4x4 system with the ability to 'lock' the coupling connecting drive to the rear, so should be as good in the snow as we all experienced recently. And it's about 170kg lighter too, so those 90 horsepowers go a long way. If you've not tried one Hans, do, as the tech in them is excellent as well.

The Ignis looks good from the front with clam-look bonnet. Then it all goes downhill from the side and rear view on skinny tyres. The way the rear windows are cut would seem to limit visibility too.

You'd hope Suzuki will drop their 1.0 Boosterjet in the Ignis at some point.

I tried it a few times in the new Swift, though I'm not a fan of 3 pot engines (unless it's in a Triumph bike), it is the best I've tried, I was so so tempted to buy one, my pen hovered over the order form!

It's a real eye opener, it's not quite hot hatch, but it got more than enough go to entertain.

Due to the manifold in head and the turbo bolted tight up against the engine, there's almost zero turbo lag and plenty of zing!

The auto, in manual "paddle" mode makes lightening fast changes, it just snaps into each gear instantly and it makes it feel more sporty than the 110hp suggest.

They also return much better mpg figures than Fiats TA, even in the real world.

They do a 4x4 in the Swift, though it's no more ground clearance than the standard fwd car and only with the same 1.2 Dualjet of the Ignis.

Either model with the Boosterjet and 4x4 would be a real winner in my book, but the rear diff does eat into the boot space by quite a bit which could be bothersome.

I was following a Swift Sport the other day (16 reg, so the old model). Right little Q car that is - from the rear it looked anonymous, only given away by the twin exhausts. It left me for dead.

Before i bought my mtj 4x4 panda last June, i had multiple test drives of Panda vs Suzuki Ignis 4x4. Ignis was alot spacious and better equipted. Despite that the ride was horrible compared to Panda. Sensitivity on side winds, wind and tyre noise on speed, ability to accelerate when you want to pass a car and steering wheel feeling haziness made me choose the Panda..... Even hated the empty plastic box sound of the stereo system.
