hello people (sorry if this post goes on a bit, but got to make up for lost FF time)
haven't visited or posted on the forum for a few weeks now, very sorry guys.
anyway quite a few little things have been going wrong lately with the little beast, and i was getting to the point of sending my little cinq 2 fiat heaven!,
but i kept on throwing money at it and its nearly running good and SAFE again.
first of all the brakes have never been that good but i just got used to them and the constent pumping of the pedal to stop the car even in emergencys!
brought a red (not pink) rear bumper off ebay, took the old 1 off and all the brackets came with it (rusted to hell)
All the wheel bearings seem to have given in and scream, squeek and werr all the time now.
the throttle cable snapped the other day (smached the hell out of the steering wheel at this point)
and the car hasnt been running very smoothly lately which has been getting me down quite a bit (the car is really an extention of me, quite sad really)
after a really really near miss with a child the other week i thought it best to sort the brakes out. so even though its not best practice i found a servo and master cylinder assembily at the local scrapy (out of a 900cc cinq) and had a go at fiting it... 7 hours of banging the hell out of the engine bay (gear box was in the way) and pumping the brakes a nearly new servo, master cyclinder and a few other bits were fitted,
i really cant beleave i was driving round with brakes that bad, now people watching the car stop get wiplash it stops that good!
when the throttle cable snapped i stuffed a bit of wire round the "cam thing" on the throttle housing so the engine would rev to 3k and drove it up to a newly source ex janspeed racing machanic friend type person who sorted me out... then the car
he had a little play round with the engine and since then the car seems to run much better and go a hell of a lot quicker.
as for the wheel bearings... just turn the music up a bit more.
thats my essay finished, now you can laugh at me and my almost red cinq.
