Technical ignition live

Help, apologies if this has been asked before, but i am trying to pull a ignition feed from the cig lighter to power a connects2 ipod adaptor, however i have wired it into the red cable with a black line coming down the sheathing, is the the ignition live, anyone else fitted one of these things to a 54 punto?

The "live" wire to the cig lighter will be the thick one that isn't black. May be yellow. The other non-black is for illumination.

Put a multimeter on it (£10 or less from Maplin) and work it out for yourself.

Thanks guys, just took it to work on saturday and found out it is the red wire. Fiat are the only company i know that doesnt use a completely red cable for ignition live. The bit of kit is amazing if anyone was interested, basically use the factory fit to control any ipod, without the faf of can-bus.
