rite my ar over the past few wen cold has started idling increasingly funny i think its a sensor as i have drove the car 6000 miles without having to change one is it due for a change????? if it is wat sensor or sensors will i need to make it run properly

Get a Diagnostic from Fiat...

Costs £30 ish and they'll tell yu exactly what's died...if anything!!!

Could easily be MAP, Lambda or Crank sensor related!
 
Yes, there are plenty of 'diagnostic features' as you call them. The fuel injection system relies on the correct information being received from numerous sensors. If a sensor sends the wrong info, then the wrong sum is done by the ECU and the wrong result sent to the injection. Another sensor then picks up that something is wrong and resets the ecu, then the original sensor changes it again, and so.

However,

Have a look for a loose or damaged vacuum pipe, or split pipe end around the throttle body and map sensor. Additional air can lead to the sort of problem you are experiencing.
