When returning from the F1 day out I have to admitt that I gave willie some stick and pushed him a little hard. About 50 miles from home he wasn't particularly at his best and everytime I had to slow down he would just cut out and die  A few things sprung to mind the first being the idle jet on the carb but as I only replaced the carb last year I wasn't confident that would be the problem. So kept looking with nothing working checking the vacum advance etc, I even checked the timing belt again which was spot on.

Well I had another look tonight blew through the jets and still he ran like a sack of spanners till I accidentally touched the wire on the front of the carb and all of a sudden he was purring like a kitten as soon as I pulled my hand away he returned to running sh*t.

I cleaned the contact, crimped the spade connection slightly and all is well with the world again (y)
