How hard is it to reset a IAW 59f from a different car so that it will recode.

Can it be done on the car using kwp2000 or does it have to be done on a bench and also any idea of pins to connect to if on bench ?

the problem you need to address is the second hand one you are using to replace it with there is a procedure off the car to confirm its a worker
are you sure it works?
with regards kwp ive often thought it is possible but never bothered trying
some drill the ecu to cleanse the chip but you have to remember that its not an ideal way to do it

you really need to put your slippers on get your pipe out and spend a week on the web

I now know the incorrect way to take ecu apart :)

bolts need to be all around as otherwise the back comes off and breaks all the wires.

also just the outer two clips need drilling out

middle and side, just need the end piece cutting off

lesson learned
