Hello,

I have just passed my driving test and want a cheap run around which is low on insurance and a Fiat Cinquecento looks prefect and as my sister had one as her 1st car and said she loved it has convinced me even more !!

I have been look on Auto Trader but there is not alot on there at the moment my budget is around £800 and one know of any cars for sale in Surrey ?

Cheers
Justin

imo the cinq is getting a bit old, that is why most of them are in scrapyards rather than on the road, and explains why there are so few on sale near you.

a seicento would be a better idea.

here's a sei sporting near you for £800
http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...AT&model=SEICENTO&min_pr=&max_pr=&max_mileage=

for an extra £50 you can get one with very low mileage, and not far from you

here's another to check out

and another low mileage sporting you can afford

This post contains eBay links which may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
I am near Guildford which is the GU area and I am prepared to travel around 20 miles there is one on auto Trader near me which I may go and have a look at.

i agree the sei is a bit more feminine than the cinq, but it is alsoa lot more modern inside and out. with a few mods the sei can be made a lot more masculine.

the newest cinq is now a decade old.

that second link (£850) with 31,000miles is a bargain that can't be missed.
almost a new car for next to nowt! absolute bargain.

I am not into modifying it im afraid just a cheap run around to get me to work etc that is cheap all round.

If it's a cheap runaround I really don't think a Cinq is that bad an option. Yes a Seicento has youth on its side but a well looked after Cinq is hardly going to be problematic. When I was eyeing up cars a month or so ago there was an abundance of 899cc Cinquecentos with full MOT for under 500 notes, all appeared to have great bodywork too, though I never got to the test driving stage as I decided against selling the Panda.

Saying that, Seicentos are getting seriously cheap now as well so if you're after peace of mind you could do a lot worse than spend an extra couple of hundred pounds.

From experience you must be prepared to travel to find exactly what you want, with cinqs getting a rarer site on the road, limiting yourself to a 20mile radius is gonna seriously hinder your chances of finding a minter, which are out there for good money. Keep eyes peeled on ebay, gumtree and all your local free ads and papers and the like. And don't rush into a purchase without checking a few out first. And don't forget to come ask questions if your not sure about something, loads of helpto be had here ;)
