Just got in from a whole night's sloggin at bumpers/mesh and other bits and bats.

I just have to write a note to say how bloody chuffed I am with how lil Geoff's turned out, no longer will I be the scorn of the college car park.

Ok, so sexiness is subjective, and geoff may not be the sexiest, and to all you out there who have sexier cinq's - i bow respectively. but for me, right now, with the moeny and expertise (ahem) available to me, I am the happiest cinq driver in the world.

Cant wait to see you all on Sunday. Im just so proud.

PLease dont pick faults.... hehehehe

Oh, and one thing (Four things) missing, is (are) alloys. After market, non chrome, five spoke or similair, damn sexy, in the £100 range.

I just wanna thank you all for the help you've all given to me so far in sorting out my pride and joy - it is appreciated, and I will be needin a lot more advice im sure.

Ok, Ill egt a photo. Just got in from shining him up.

Oh, and I can recommend Turtlewax spray n shine. Its incredible, you just spray it on, and wipe it off. Hell - its so easy even I did it!

Really nice car 'Samtimmons',

I've a couple of questions for you tho.

First of all, did you do the bumper smoothing yourself, as the front bumper is exactly how I want to go about doing mine but I want to meash the whole lot without leaving the centre section of plastic.

If so what process did you go throught to fill them?
Did you have to ruff up the areas where you applied the filler? If you did use filler that is?

I'd also like to know what sort of material you used to cover the part of the bumoper just underneath the bonnet lip?

As well as where abouts you got your mesh from?

I hope you don't mind me asking all of these questions.

Very nice car by the way.

Ask any racer, any real racer, it don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning's winning!

Yeah...I love that Smoothing lots....

What are the fogs? I'm quite fancying sticking in some 6" Diameter driving lights Ive got, and then getting some small fogs as auxilaries

1242cc Engine to go in soon, boot delock soon, ETech Wing still in garage, so's the effing K+N!

Thanks guys.

Bucho - smoothing is a piece of ****. Did it myself, I been busy on tailgate before though so I have a bit of an idea how to do it.

Didnt need roughing up at all - go to halfrauds and get some "Isopon P38 easy sanding filler" or something like it - its the best that Ive found.

It epoxy so you just mix it up and slap it in. Then smooth off with a B&D mouse or something similair, and spray over the top.

I used halfords primer filler as well - i shall explain the painting:
Get it nice and smooth, then use Halfords Primer filler, yellow can, to paint the filled bits - this just fills in all the tiny little pores.

Then use PLastic bumper primer - grey can

Then use coloured primer

And then your colour.

Dead easy

The mesh is standard diamond mesh from motorworld, araldited to the back of the bumper.

Filler wise a avoid the stuff which sets with UV light - its s**te and takes ages to sand down.

Ill see you all sunday sop if u have any more questions you can ask then - and look closely and pick out all the faults, tee hee.

Alloys - Yes, god yes! It needs em... it is currently missing two wheel trims whichnis why pics are from one side.

The rear is easy enough. The lack of rear washwipe doesnt bother me as it doesnt tend to get rained on too much.

Fillin holes is easy enough, its getting a gorgeous finish which is the pain, which I havent managed yet. Just take off all the wiper motor mech and door handle etc. The booit lock has a catch on the int. and a handle/lock on the ext. Just keep the catch and fill the hole. My advice is to use some cheap ally mesh (Halfords) to fill the hole if its a big one. That way the filler doesnt just fall through.

The bonnet wasnt tricy at all - unbolt and ifl again. The only reason i did it was cos of a little bump so I needed a new bonnet anyway. I thought since it needed respraying I might as well debadge it, and I think it looks the dogs.

Personal opinion, but hey, I like it!

unscrew em from the back. Im guessing you mean the bits that run round tthe bumper horizontally? The are screwed in at the back on sportings. If these screws are seized (mine were) i drilled em out.

i resprayed it all. The bonnet because it was one from a scrappy due to shunt. It was blue, so it kinda needed it.

The boot cos it was my third attempt... I filled the wiper hole and recess bit under the lock, and did a proper s**te job spraying it. i then redid this and sprayed it agian. ONly under the window though, so half a boot respray. I then redid the whole thing and delocked it, and sprayed the entire boot. I am goin to do it AGAIN soon, bonnet and boot, cos it aint perfect, and the bonnet has got some nasty orange peel that just wont T -Cut. Im gonna get it done pro I think. Since I left college and dont need the Cinq to get there nemore (i get the tram to work) it has been sat on the drive since Sunday. SO i may turn him more into a project than a runaround and have some real fun.
