I don't believe it, for the past 18 years I have spelt "Celsius" incorrectly as "Celcius" which I always believed to be correct, I only realised today when I was in a lecture and was like "eh? Can't he spell?!"

Bare in mind I pride myself on science.....gosh I am a dumbass!

Wait, I thought Steve's letters were funny but this......................oh my Paul, i always say some people are that clever that their dumb when it comes to the simple things.

Do you require therapy to get over the mental scarring this will no doubt leave on your memory?

I think I am eternally scared and despite reading a self help book this evening to recover, it's not helping and I feel I will always be like that. I am disgusted in myself.

I am now going to spend 3 hours searching on the internet for a page explaining that celcius is an allowed spelling or something lol

LOL, but when you go to sleep now you could have nightmares about being faced witha temperature spelling test and knowing what to write but still doing C-E-L-C-I-U-S.............ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH then you wake up and your sheets are soaking with sweat.

Is this what lays ahead? I can sleep with that thought, *goes to get 10 cups of tea*

Celcius is a RECOGNISED misspelling of celsius, therefore I can't be THAT stupid.

We won't have a temperature scale spelling test will we? Aghhh *goes to revise, is it Rankin or Rankine?*

LOL, well I was hoping people would share their CELCIUS VS. CELSIUS experiences too so I am glad you have shared that. We can all work this through together.

You can't be clever unless you are always willing to learn and willing to accept when you are wrong.

I would have thought being a science buff, you would have always referred to things in degrees Calvin, just to confuse people.

Me too ;)

Yeah you use Kelvin for a fair bit (simply because equations rely on absolute zero being zero) however, showing some data and changes in temperature use celcius. This is engineering remember, a lot of the units are old and out of date (Btus - British Thermal Units anyone?) and Fahr/Rankin are still used in certain areas.

Ah bloody hell! Please tell me Pete thought it would be hilarious to edit it?! lol, 18 years (well, maybe a few less ;) ) writing the same thing means I will need a bit of a transition period.

I think I am just highlighting a well known and misunderstood problem.
