Where can I get one! ?
Also they need to ditch the 1.4 and put the alfa 1.7 in. 235bhp is far too
Much for a small engine

Wasn't that the one that was ment to be an Abarth but ended up being the Alfa 4C? Or is this a different one?

There was talk about an abarth sports cars (not roadster) but it was canceled and they ended up doing the 4C.

This new roadster on the other hand, has been in the pipeline for a few years in joint venture with mazda to develop the new alfa spyder with the same chassis as the next miata but now they're switching it to be a fiat instead of an alfa.

They probably did that so they can sell it in the US as a fiat.

The only negative thing about the switch from alfa to fiat might be that they'll probably put it in the 500 range with the unsporty retro styling... too girly.

Mmm possibly, I did some reading and it suggests its no longer Alfa as they have said Alfa's can only be made in Italy where as Fiat can be made anywhere, so your more than likely correct in the fact they'll try and flog to the US market.

I hope its not too much of a let down, i kinda hope they make it 'sporty' or at least do an Abarth version :)

The made in italy argument is just a big lie since they were planning it for a long time, so they wouldn't have planned it as an alfa from the start if there was such a policy. It has more to do with fiat's disastrous handling of alfa's come back to the US. Since the US is the biggest market for MX5's, Fiat's releasing their next roadster as a fiat to be able to sell it in the US.

They also somewhat confirmed there will be no abarth version.

It won't be sporty, it'll have a twin air and the way fiat are whoring out the 500 brand it'll be called a 500 roadster or something . . .

Exactly. The way I see it there's not going to be a bravo successor (C-segment hatch). Looks like they're going to milk the 500 name till the very last variant.
