I have the film precut for my mk2. Just the back windows, ( all behind passenger seat)

How much do you think it will cost jus tto fit them ? Im thinking around 50 pound ?

if they're pre cut why cant you do them yourself - cutting is probably the only hard thing.

take out rear windows.

wash the inner window. and then spray the window with water...

place the tint on the window (it wont stick because its currently wet)

adjust the tint so it sits nice

squeeze all the water out from behind the tint with a bank card or something similar.

then re fit the rear windows and let the water dry out naturally.

jobs a goodun ;)

How do i remove the back side windows, and how he **** do i do the boot :(

follow the guide to removing the rear windows

when doing the rear window you have to be in quite awierd
angle to do it and will have to accept that water will get in your
boot/on your parcel shelf. Just follow the things I said and try
your best.. Worstcass senario is that you messed up and you'll just pull the Tint off. Then just get a pro todo it....

You make this sound so simple !! i tried it and it is inpossible, i would recoment you get someone who knows what they are doing to do it if you dont want to mess up the tint

DIY tinting comes up from time to time & Ive never come across a "pukka" job, as was said, in my life, & I'm old enough to be somes grandfather on here. ;) There is nothing worse than a bad looking tint job. Get it done by a professional, they have the tools, space & the know how. Even if a self tint starts off by looking half decent, its not long until it starts to turn bad:eek: Trust me I know. There are some on here that will agree with me & indeed you have already been advised not to DIY.

Thing is what I generally find on here, not all the time mind you, but when someone has made up their mind or have issued a statement which they feel is the right way forward, well, that's it job done:rolleyes: Get it done professionally, you know it makes sense(y)

i do agree - getting it done by a professional is best bet. but its also good to have a go at these things and learn, it also saves you alot of money if your on a tight budget if you do learn how to do it yourself.

just take your time on it - patience is key.

if you cant manage to place the tint on the window, try spraying more water on the window and sticky side of the tint - then try to replace and squeeze water out. (y)

If the film is already cut its pretty simple to apply it not as hard as everyone is making out.

Take the back windows out using the guide then spray water onto the window get a mate to help position it ontol the window and use like an old credit card to squeeze the water out while your mate keeps it still. Back is a bit harder because you will have to do it with the window still on car but defo do able.

Ah well I did try and offer some advise:confused: You see & I cant say this enough, initially you may make what appears a half decent job, if you get that far;) A week or two down the line maybe a bit longer if you're lucky, things with your DIY tints will not be looking so "pukka" Its not a case of me being a know all or just trying to put a damper on things, these are facts.

I do understand that some are on a budget & I'm a tight git myself, but in time, as said, your attempt at tinting will make your pride&joy look crap(n) I would be very interested to see some results if you go ahead :D best of luck & all that but.................................
