Technical HOT HOT HOT... Help!

Hi Guys.

Have had my Mk2 51 plate Punto Sporting for nearly a year now.

However im having quite a problem now.

I had noticed a water leak a while ago, and it didnt seem so bad. So I left it and didnt mind topping up weekly.

But now.

I fill the radiator and check the next day and most of it has gone.

The heater isnt getting hot.

Engine temperature is high.

And it just smells hot.

I had the head gasket changed about 9 - 10 months ago...

Please help!

Did you bleed the system every time you topped it up?

Did you use proper coolant?

when filling it up everyday you have proberly diluted all the anti freeze, what i would do is:-

1 get some radiator flush, rad weld(if the leak is small) anti freeze and some water

2 Put the raditor flush in the car with the old water in and drive the car about 3miles so the engine is hot

3 drain the old water out

4 put the radweld(if needed or fix the leak)

5 put new anti freeze and water in and run the car for a while so the engine is hot then bleed the system to get rid of any air bubbles

See if this may solve your problem

also if you have managed to dilute the coolant solution it could have frozen...

Don't use anti leak stuff. Identify and fix the problem.
